Through The Net is a non profit voluntary organisation based in Blackpool, England. We do all sorts of interesting things - see our old website www.throughthenet.co.uk for all the archive material.
We help local charities and good causes raise money and awareness through music dance, sports and fun in general. We have been quite busy over the course of this year so we'll post a few archive photos over the coming weeks so that you can see what sort of things we actually do..!
This photo was taken at the end of September when we met the Red Arrows Aerobatic Display Team! The occasion was the launch of our charity CD "Remembrance - The Next Generation" in aid of ex servicemens charities.
More details about this CD and the others we have produced will follow shortly.
ACE Award For TV Entertainer Brian Cant
In October 2007 we presented prestigious TV entertainer Brian Cant with our ACE award for long term service to entertainment. The award was presented backstage at the Grand Theatre in Blackpool where he was starring in the comedy No Place Like A Home. Brian is best known for his work in children's television in the 1960s and 1970s on programmes such as Play School, Play Away, Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley.
